TomTom Carrying Case and Strap for the GO 720 and 730 GPS Right now

>> Friday, January 8, 2010

This case is a perfect fit for the TomTom GO 720 (the model I have). It should also fit the GO 730, and from what I've read, some of the 900-series models. The GPS fits into the case perfectly, with little-to-no room to spare around the GPS unit. I appreciate the tight fit as it means you can still carry the GPS around relatively easily, even when it is in its protective case.

The case is made of a hard, rubbery material. It's not rock hard, but it should be good enough to protect the GPS from the occasional drop. The case is lined with an orange material, which is soft and smooth, so it should help protect the screen from scratches.

The case includes a strap that can be used to carry the case around. I haven't used it as the entire case is small enough to fit in my hand or my pants pocket. I don't see much point in the strap, but it could be handy for others.

The zipper seems to be a bit weak. I haven't had any problems with it, but I'm pretty careful and slow with zipping/unzipping it. I could definitely see the zipper breaking off or jumping the track. So, while it has held up for me, so far, I could see it being a problem with frequent use.

This is a great, no-frills case. If you need a case, and just a case, then this one should fit the bill.
